Sponsor an Owl

$ 25.00

There are three owls available for sponsorship at McLane Center:

The first Barred Owl came to NHA in March of 1999. He was hit by a car in Claremont, NH sustaining two broken wings. He is now unable to fly. It was estimated upon arrival at NHA that he was 2 years old.

The second Barred Owl came to NHA in February 2011. She was found in Hopkinton, NH with a broken wing. The cause of injury is unknown. Treatment for the injury required amputation. Therefore, she is also unable to fly.

Our Red Phase Eastern Screech Owl arrived at NHA in 2007. It was found the same year in New Jersey with apparent nerve damage to the left side of his head. The cause of the injury is unknown. However, a common mechanism for injury for owls is automobile collisions. His age is unknown. Screech Owls can live up to 20 years in captivity.
