Introduction to Nature Journaling with Watercolor, Spring 2018

This course consists of 4 classes, each one held once a month. The instructor will give an introduction to Nature Journaling Through Art and Writing. We will look at various types of nature journals and view some of the ways others are creating unique and personal journals recording their experiences with Nature. Instruction will be given in drawing and painting with watercolor. All levels welcome. The instructor with be working with a New Hampshire Audubon naturalist at The McLane Audubon Center. Each class will involve some time spent outside sketching. There will be other options available for those who need to work inside.

Materials: Students may purchase a Watercolor Journal and a permanent drawing pen from the instructor at the first class for a cost of $21.00. Other supplies will be available to use for the first class. A supply list will be given to students for  additional supplies to purchase. What to bring: Plan to be outside for part of the class. We recommend having sunscreen, hat, bug repellent, water, snacks, and a camp chair or cushion (that you can carry on the trail. We will be walking on an uneven forested trail so where appropriate footwear.
